WESFOR INTERNATIONAL

AMG assessed, and assembled a turn-key hardwood forestry program in South America consisting of four forest properties totaling approximately 197,000 acres containing 26 million cubic meters of Wesfor International forest reserves and a hardwood sawmill having present capacity to process 150,000 m3 of logs per year.

The 197,000 acres of forested land is approximately 50 miles long and up to 15 miles wide, with 30 miles of Pacific shoreline, a dozen large rivers and hundreds of the creeks, flowing through the properties and draining waters to the Pacific. The selected properties have over 26 million cubic meters of forest reserves: some 21 million cubic meters of hardwoods as Coigue-beach, Roble-Spanish Oak, Ulmo, and over 5 million cubic meters of Alerce-Redwood and Manio. According to selective harvesting 1/3 of standing trees or 8.3 million cubic meters can be logged in every 10-year period.

The sawmilling plant built in 1998 can saw up to 150,000 m3 of logs per year, and has K&D capacity of up to 25,000 m3 of hardwood lumber per year. With an investment of $2.2 million and completion of an additional 10 K&D units, the plant will become one of the world’s largest hardwood mills with a total K&D capacity of 4,400 m3 per load, and annual drying capacity of 50,000 m3 of lumber (2,000 truck loads / year). The plant has a separate molding, flooring and parquet plant.
